Shox 33, Terminator 47

Shox was already at a disadvantage before the game against Terminator even started. They had to go without guard Pat Cassidy, who scored 15 points in their opening night win against Huarache. Cassidy's presence was immediately felt as Shox struggled to score the ball, falling behind 14-4 at the 14 minute mark of the first half.

Terminator, who were also without a key player in Al Reyes, were able to finish the half with a 26-11 lead behind the brilliant play of another rookie, Omar Grant. The Chris Paul clone was huge in his debut, scoring 9 points and getting 2 steals and 2 assists along the way. No matter what they did, Shox didn't have an answer for Grant's speed or ability to knock down the triple.

For Shox, 2009 NRF MVP Jason Burke struggled to find his rhythm after his strong performance (19 points, 13 rebounds) in their first game. Burke only had 4 points in the first half, but did contribute 5 boards and 2 blocks. He played most of the game frustrated because he was not getting any calls. He also got himself a technical early in the second half.

In the second half, Terminator continued their dominance. They stretched the lead to 20 points and never looked back, winning the game 47-33. Even though Shox weren't able to close the gap, they did show a lot of heart trying to fight back into the game. Josh Gotthelf and Justin Leonard hounded Terminator's guards on the defensive end. Even though they are a small team, Shox are gritty enough to grind out wins this season.

Grant led Terminator with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Terminator's Dan Gladstone also contributed with 7 boards and 2 assists. For the Shox, both Burke and Gotthelf finished with 9 points a piece.

Play of the Game: In the second half. Terminator's Treasure Kyn Neal made a nice spin move at the foul line before finishing with his left and getting the and-one.
