The first time I saw Omar Grant play, it took only 10 or 15 minutes of watching him hoop to see his NBA equivalent: Chris Paul. Like CP3, Omar isn't the biggest guard on the floor (5-10 maybe?) but he's definitely one of the most effective. The starting point guard for Terminator is extremely quick, aways in control and can get buckets on cue.
For the season, Grant is averaging 15.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2 apg and 1 spg (well according to our faulted stat keeping system). He is knocking down 53.8 percent of his shots and 50 percent from downtown.
Omar and CP are both well balanced. They're not extremely athletic, but have a nice mix of strength and explosiveness. Both can easily get past defenders and finish in the paint or get a mid-range jump shot or teardrop. Neither Paul or Grant try to be too cute on the floor by throwing unnecessary behind the back passes or fancy dribble moves. Though they can pull off great moves when necessary. Both guards are killers down the stretch. Omar hit the game winner in OT to lift Terminator past Foamposite.
All in all, Omar is probably a top 5 player in this league and one of the frontrunners for the Rookie of the Year award along with Nick Blatchford. If there is a knock on Grant's game, it would probably be his assists. Though he's not selfish by any means, he should average more than 2 apg, considering his great court vision.
