Dunk 46, Hyperflight 41

Coming into last night's game, Hyperflight was a perfect 3-0. But with leading scorer Niko Klansek (13.3 ppg and 10.7 rpg) and Jeremy Siler (8.7 ppg, 6.3 rpg) missing from the lineup this week, the team had a lot of ground to make up for against their showdown against Dunk. It was evident from the get-go that Hyperflight missed their two big man, as they (i.e. Jay Corbin) missed several layups in the first half.

One of the few highlights for Hyperflight in the first half was Aron Phillips finally getting in the books. AP connected on his first shot attempt of the season. However, his perfect field goal percentage didn't last long as his layup attempt a few minutes later was emphatically rejected. Still, he claims he averages 96 points per 48 minutes. For Dunk, it was all Dan Solomito (24.5 ppg) in the first half. Solomito finished the half with 11 points and 5 rebounds as Dunk led 22-18 at the break.

In the second half, Hyperflight was able to keep it close with Dunk behind the play of Bobby Jones and Lou Miguel, who both finished the game with 11 points a piece. Dunk's Bobbito Garcia had one of his quieter scoring games, but still hit a couple of key threes in the game and finished with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 dimes. With Dunk leading by two with about 6 minutes to go, Hyperflight's Jed Berger got a layup plus the foul to give them a 41-40 lead. Later in the game, Dunk's Bang Takenouchi hit a huge three pointer to give them a five-point lead. Dunk ended up winning 46-41. Solomito led all scorers with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
