Week 7 Recap: Terminator V. Foamposite

Terminator 65, Foamposite 63

It hasn't been the best year for Foamposite. After starting the season 0-4, the team is doing everything possible not to become the New Jersey Nets of the NRF. Last week, the team had a bye but still spent a lot of time practicing in the other gym inside the high school. When tipoff came, every player on Foamposite had their game face on.

Getting their first "W" was not going to be easy, since they were facing Terminator, who own the best record in NRF (4-1). But this was a perfect time to try to upset Terminator, since they were without their best player Omar Grant to start the game. Foamposite were the aggressors early on as they had a 16-6 lead early on. Everything was looking great for Foamposite until Grant pulled a Willis Reed and showed up with 8:11 left in the first half. Before you knew it, Terminator was right back in the game. Terminator's Scott Hurwitz's three pointer at the buzzer closed the gap to 3 at the half (34-31).

The second half was like a see-saw as both teams went back and forth at each other. Both had a lot to play for. Terminator wanted to prove they are the best team in the league and Foamposite have too much pride to stay winlesss. There was a lot of diving for loose balls and physical play. Al Reyes and Treasure were putting in work all game for Terminator and Keith Howard and Ron Jackson were leading the way for Foamposite. With Terminator up 57-56 with 10.6 seconds to go, Howard stole a pass from Terminator's David Morissy and got fouled on the lay up. Howard only made one of two to tie the game. After Treasure connected on a sweet drive with 3.3 seconds to go, Foamposite passed the ball up the court and Jackson got a layup at the buzzer to send the game into OT.

In OT, it was everybody's favorite rookie Grant who took over from there. With seconds to go in the game, Omar (known as Blue Mamba) knocked down a jumper from just inside the free thrown line. Ballgame, 65-63.

Howard led Foamposite with 17 points, while Jackson chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and an amazing 5 blocks. For Terminator, Reyes had 20 points and 5 boards and Grant had 11 points (all after halftime) and 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

The box score has Term losing by 3 but the story has them winning.

why you guys so damn sloppy all the time? Terms is 5-1 not 4-2. Scott hurwitz hit a 3 and in the box score he has no points. This is week 6 and you guys get paid to do this. Get it together!

i vote to not bother with stats. there always wrong. and they have always been wrong. we know what players can do what in this league. and oh my god, if someones getting paid for this... lets just say the money could be used for something better. maybe some player gatorade, water bottles.
