The nightcap would prove to be the most competitive of the season's opening events. Terminator earned a slight edge (12-7, 10:53 in the first half) behind the guard Eric Raymundo's back-to-back layups. Raymundo sparked the energy needed for Terminator to keep it's energy up as they ran a balanced halfcourt/fastbreak attack. But the tough defense from Foamposite guard Keith Howard kept the lead within 10 in the first half.

 

Howard kicked off the second half hot with an and-one bucket, followed by a quick gimmie off an outlet pass from Ron Jackson, to cut the lead to two (40-38) with 1:22 left. Terminator forward Dan Gladstone (17 points) knocked down two free throws with 51 seconds left in the game and then got a steal to keep possession for his team and kill the clock. After Terminator converted on three free throws to go up by five, David Jacoby nailed a three with 31 seconds left cutting the lead to two (43-41). Terminator would convert on two from the line again pushing the lead to four but Howard (21 points) wouldn't quit as he dropped a runner in the lane with eight seconds left. Still it wasn't enough as Terminator converted on four more from the charity stripe, sealing a 49-43 win.
