Air Force 1 74, Shox 64

In the beginning of the season, the Shox were compared to a certain south beach team with a talented trio. This slump they’re in right now is real reminiscent of that team that shall remain nameless but where the pro team was tagged as yet to gel, I’m tagging the Shox as yet to show up. Aside from the game against Uptempo, they haven’t played with intensity and in the first game after the break, things didn’t change. The Shox were shockingly lethargic and Bang-Bang Bigelow-Lee (nine points, five assists), Ryan Fisher (14 points, six assists) and Brandon Smith (18 points, six rebounds) , ate them up from all points on the floor. Add in the excellent low post pivot play of Jason Burke and Team AF1 jumped out to an early lead, causing the Shox to sub their whole starting five. At the six minute mark of the first half, Team Shox did cut the lead to four (21-17) but found themselves down 33-21 at halftime.

Number one draft pick, Chad Easterling began to show up a bit in the second half, scoring 12 of his 16 in the second and grabbing six boards. CGF had a season high of 15 points but said later that his team is too talented this year him to have to do that every game.  With the game in hand and already netting 17 points, Burke joined Team Delta Force’s Treaure and his BFF-CGF, as the only players this season to air ball from the free throw line. Congrats to Burke on that and the 74-61 win.
