Dunk 39, Foamposite 52

 Each week the Foamies play I can’t help but notice how simple they keep the game plan. Ron Jackson (nine rebounds, three blocks) plays brolic defense down low and grabs every rebound there is, Dan Jacoby (14 points, seven rebounds, four assists) acts as another big body and penetrates the gaps and Do Kim and Keith Howard simply run right by everyone. And just like their opponents as of late, I’m not sure I know how to stop it. Kim started this week’s game with a dish to Evan Waterman for a bank shot, opening the flood gates for Foamposite. After allowing a 12-4 run to start the game, Team Dunk called a time out to stop the bleeding but there wasn’t’ a band aid big enough for the first nine minutes of play. Jackson and Jacoby (that sounds like a 70’s sitcom) clogged the middle and made life miserable for Dunk, deterring all penetration from gang-green. But Raf (six points) and Ryan Kearney (nine points) shook the rust, by knocking down jumpers and cutting the lead to four 23-19 at the half.

With back-court homie, Howard M.I.A. tonight, Kim kept pushing the ball but Jacoby got in on the action too, connecting on back-to-back and-one’s with nine minutes to go (43-26, Foamposite). Despite second half efforts from Harold Reid (14 points, five rebounds), Chris Dowling (17 points) sealed the game with a one-on-three finish in the lane, capping an 8-2 run. The Foamies, now 3-2 are looking like a tougher matchup than they initially showed and are now a legit threat in the league.
