Hyperflight 59, Delta Force 71

In the nightcap, Erskin Felix (10 points, 10 rebounds) and Niko Klansek (20 points, six rebounds) kicked off the New Year with an inside versus outside battle of big men. The two battled early, leading their teams to a 10-10 stalemate with 15 minutes left in the first half. The defensive pressure by Mike Won (19 points, four rebounds, four assists, four steals) caused Hyperflight to have unforced turnovers, which is a sure way to lose ground on the game in the NRF. With a 20-12 lead, Damian Bulluck began to run the O in the half court for Delta Force but Bobby Jones (eight points) went to his go-to move of a drive and finish off the left side of the glass to keep his team in the game. Felix must have asked Santa Claus for a 15-foot jumper because he knocked down shots he didn’t really have in his arsenal before the break, on the reg in the first half, helping Delta secure a 36-29 first half lead.

Kelvin Coffey (18 points) knocked down back to back three’s to open up the second half (44-38, Delta Force). Later on, AP, Jones and Klansek hit three’s on three straight possessions to leap Hyperflight in the game. With a comeback mounting, the Hype-boys went into a 2-3 zone but Treasure Kyn Neal knocked down the open jumpers in the gaps and hit floater after floater in the lane, giving Delta the 69-58 victory.
