Hyperflight 45, Generation 51

In the secret society that is NRF basketball, there are many questions that deserve their own hour-long specials on the Discovery Channel. Will PR ever play a game before the playoffs? Will that ref who looks like Steve Harvey’s doppelganger ever work a night-cap game without his jacket in his hand and a foot in the hallway? Is Ron Jackson a 70’s super-hero, sent to the future to take down the MAN and other Jive-Turkey’s?

One question that had to be top ten on the list was about team Generation-would they go winless in the 2010-11 NRF season?

Before the game, an inside source told me that Hyperflight would beat Generation with four people.

Well, I need new sources because two things ended up being wrong with that prediction. One: Hyperflight did not beat Generation. They lost 53-45 in an ugly game that had may have had more turnovers than points (I had to stop counting and just focus on the positive).  And two, Hyperflight did manage to steal away a player from AF1 who shall remain nameless. The game did get pretty close in the last five minutes, with Bobby Jones (14 points) hitting a three to cut the Generation lead to three. But Joe Branch (20 points, nine rebounds) held it down for the veteran squad for their first win.

Shout out to AP for doing the LeBron/KG powder thing and getting it all over the NRF table. In his defense, it must have worked because he had eight points, including two three’s, and grabbed five rebounds. If they would have won, I would have made him POW.
