Hyperflight 38, Foamposite 59

The Foamies have been a force all season behind their balanced inside-outside attack. Do “To the Rim” Kim was at his normal franticly fast pace but the question was could Hyperflight keep up? The two teams surprisingly were running and gunning against each other for the first 10 minutes of play. Chris Dowling’s use of the give and go ensured that Foamposite would even keep their fluidity in the half court set. Both teams ran the floor, passed well and made smart decisions on shot selection. However, neither team was able to convert well and finish the plays that the offenses started. Keith Howard (eight first half points) broke the ice with a razzle-dazzle lefty layup; leading the charge for the men in blue and sparking a nine point lead (24-15). Kim connected with his back-court mate on an assist for a 3-pointer to maintain the lead at the half 32-23.

The dynamic-duo came out eager to set the tone in the second and extend the lead. Kim made a full court pass to Howard, who leaked out for the easy deuce. Later in the half, Kim followed up with a steal at mid court and an over the shoulder pass Howard for a lay up to cap a 12-2 run (44-25, Foamies).  Dowling sealed the deal for the W as he finished his defender with slow-mo cross over an easy finger roll at the rim to put his squad ahead by 17. Hyperflight’s Niko Klansek (seven points in the first half) and Jamaree Pinkard tried their best to put up numbers but it was no use, as the Foamies won 59-38.
