Player of the Week

The Conference finals for both the Uptown and Downtown divisions were well worth the wait.

After Jason Burke led AF1 through the semifinals, he assured me that he’d finally get over the hump that was Uptempo and make it to the garden. With 17 points and seven boards-right on his average’s for the season-he was able to pull off a Naimithian performance and come through on his promise of dominance. On a pick and roll play with Ryan Fisher in the second half, Burke split two defenders with a  twinkle toed ala Fred Flintstone spin and scored a layup that made the crowd make the somebody farted face while screaming ooooh!

That was the moment we all realized that the chip would change hands this season. Uptempo had a great run and will most likely be a team no one wants to see next season but for right now, Air Force 1 holds the Downtown Conference crown and will have a shot at winning the chip on MSG’s legendary floor. Thanks largely to the Burke, the NRF Player of the Week.

Yo, there's been a lot of talk of different players for MVP but out of all the guys I think Burke deserves it. AF1 has a winning reg season record (barely, but still winning) and he totally changes the complexion of his team. He's their only true big and where as Scott has Blatchford and Terence has Billy, Rosco, etc... After Burke there is no one that can come close to contributing what he does for his team. If he's on the court and he doesn't have a good game they don't have as good a chance to pull a W, and that is why I think he should carry Most VALUABLE Player honors. With that said if I were playing against Burke in the semi's he would have been in straight shackles, hahaha (for real tho). Burke congrats, you got my vote!

Burke is definitely a strong candidate along with you and a few other guys but you can't say he has no support on this team. Ryan is hands down one of the best guards in the league

Don't forget about Bang and Brandon. MSG is slated for a great game.

@ Justin: def think he has help without a doubt, I don't want to take anything away from Brandon, Ryan or Bang, but with Burke not in the equation their a way different team. Burke gives them scoring in the paint and rebounds, something that no one else on AF1 is gonna come close to giving them. The other guys have players on their team that can fill their skill set, respectively, if they are having a bad game or aren't there at all.

You guys are forgetting about Detrick. He's a dominant force in the post-game beer category.

What about Hog Daddy, think he had a Triple Single. One Board, one look away turnover, and one game kicking line to a lady fan in the bleachers.
