Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Shox claims the top spot after an AF1 loss...
10. Hyperflight - While Joe Branch put up a banner week against 'Flight, Niko Klansek looked like his old self again, posting an efficient 16-point (6-9 FG), 8-board, 3-assists, 1-steal performance. Maybe we should start calling him AK-47 instead of Dirk?
9. Delta Force - This is Delta's chance. Coming off a week of rest, they're going against a Dunk team, reeling from two tough losses in their last two weeks. It was only three weeks ago when these two teams met, and Will Blunt/Bobbito Garcia combined for 34 points against DF. Revenge?
8. Huarache - Slipping from No. 6 to No. 8, Huarache was without two of their key players, Christian Grant-Fields and LeKeith Taylor in their loss to Terminator last week. Without those two in the lineup, Huarache struggled to take care of the ball. 12 more turnovers last week puts Huarache No. 1 in NRF in TO's with 90.
7. Terminator - It took months before Term could win one game. But since then, it's taken weeks for them to earn three. They might have two of the hottest guys in the League - Brendan Callahan and Dan Gladstone, who are averaging 20.6 points and 16.6 points respectively over their last three games.
6. Dunk - Through their first stretch of games, Dunk looked incredibly tough because Will Blunt was destroying everyone in his way. However, in their last two losses, they've struggled to get Blunt the looks that he needs. He had 19 points in a loss to Uptempo last week, but didn't get too many opportunities to go to work in the post.
5. Foamposite - Maybe the biggest upset of the season thus far? Foam beat then No-1 AF1 (granted, without Paul Rivera) thanks to an absolutely perfect night from Evan Waterman. He didn't miss a shot - (6-6 FG, 7-7 FT, 20 points).
4. Generation - When Generation gets four guys in double-figures, they're tough to beat. They're even tougher to beat when one of those guys isn't Dan Cherry, who always finds one way or another to contribute. Sabai Burnett's 11 points against 'Flight last week shows yet another weapon on this roster.
3. Air Force 1 - The team who leads NRF with the fewest TO's - 55 - gave it up 10 times to Foamposite last week without their star point guard Paul Rivera. Normally, this team moves the ball as well as anyone in the League, but without PR, they're a different animal.
2. Uptempo - It seemed like Scott Williams wasn't making every shot he took for the first time all year. So what do the reigning champs do when one of their biggest pieces isn't hitting? Someone else steps up. Mike Won put up 17 points, missing only two shots on the evening.
1. Shox - Even though Shox moved up to the No. 1 spot on a bye week, it was the natural progression given AF1's L. Plus, the boys in red are proud owners of NRF's longest win streak - 6 games - and continue to beat quality opponents in recent weeks (Generation, Dunk, Foamposite).
