We would have loved to see Dunk play with a full squad last week. They went berserk offensively against Foamposite on April 29th, putting up a 70-spot to break out of a multi-week slumber. But when they took the floor against Foam against last week, they were without Will Blunt and Scott Nelson. Thus, they were without the manpower to take advantage of a sweet shooting night from Bobbito Garcia (4-8 3FG). Dunk will need all hands on deck if they're going to take down the surging Air Force 1. AF1's last time out was a MONSTER win against Uptempo, shooting them way up the power ranking.
Key Matchup: Chris Dowling vs. Dunk's Zone Defense
One of the luxuries of having a bunch of energetic, talented rebounders on your team is the ability to play zone. With Blunt, Nelson, Gabe Urist, Jeremy Jensen, Thomas Harden and Reggie Dance staying active on the glass, Dunk is able to run a 2-3 zone consistently. If they come out in that usual defense against AF1, make sure to watch out for Chris Dowling at the high post. He's adept at facing the basket from the free throw line and making good, quick decisions. If he can knife through the zone, things might open up real wide for AF1's three-point attack as well.
