NRF Player Profile: Chris Dowling

Chris Dowling
If Air Force 1 is going to win it all this year, a lot rests on the 6-4, 180-pounds shoulders of Chris Dowling. Often a quiet presence on the floor, Dowling will eat your heart out if he has to. Take a few minutes to learn a little bit more about Chris…

Name: Chris Dowling
Team: Air Force 1
Industry: Design/Marketing
Job title: Partner/Creative Director at Seesaw
What do you do for your job? Co-managing (and designing for) a multidisciplinary branding studio involved in insight, strategy and design capabilities for a wide range of clientele.
Age: 34
Hometown: Orem, Utah
Height: 6-4
Weight: 180
Shoe size: 11.5
Position: Forward
My Home Court: My original “court.” The sloping driveway of my home growing up. At one point we had a full court setup, even though the driveway was only 20-feet wide. Spotlight on the roof for night games :)
Playing Experience: Nerf Hoops, Jr Jazz, High School, intramurals, the little hoop on the back of my door, NRF, dirty socks and my clothes bin…
Favorite Sneakers: Jordan VI (white w/ black pat)
Favorite Player: Dwyane Wade
Favorite Team: Jazz
Go-to-Move: Either tomahawk dunk or crossover. But settle most often on the latter.
I play: Less than I should
Coming up I admired: Jeff Hornacek. Knowing his difference of athleticism from those around him, he was still a scoring threat to teams he went against if you left him open.
My basketball moment: College intramurals. Dunked it over a guy on the break who tried to take a charge too late and fell down under me while I’m hanging on the rim above him. My teammates had to call a timeout just to celebrate. It was my own Tom Chambers over Mark Jackson moment.
