As Shox charges toward the postseason, one thing is certain: as good as their bigs have been all year, they will only go as far as their guards can take them. In his first year in the NRF,
Jamaal Lesane has been stellar for Shox and they will need him to keep it up if they hope to make it Lesane’s place of work. Take a few minutes to learn a little bit more about Jamaal…

My Home Court: Made my first basket at the age of 3 or 4 at 113 on Dekalb Ave. and Adelphi Place in BK. Learned to play at Emerson Park on Emerson and Willoughby Ave and Crispus Attucks Park on Fulton St. and Classon Ave…both in BK. These days, I still run at the same parks in the summer when my knees are agreeing with the pavement, otherwise, weekly runs at MLK High and Berkeley-Carroll. And if you’ve ever been to a game at the Collegiate School on the Upper West Side, then you’ve been in “The House That Jamaal Built.”
Playing Experience: My whole life. CYO, AAU (Madison Broncos…R.I.P. Doc), High School, Summer Leagues (Soul in the Hole and Kingston were my faves) and about two weeks of low D-1 college.
Favorite Sneakers: Don’t want to get a tech
Favorite Player: Ask me on July 1, 2010
Favorite Team: Knicks
Go-to-Move: Drive, draw, look one way and dish the other.
I play: Because it’s all I’ve ever done
Coming up I admired: Bernard King and Magic Johnson
My basketball moment: Shooting about 25% from the field in two high school games at MSG…and not caring because I had just played in the same building where the legend of Hulkamania was born ten years earlier.
