NRF Player Profile: Jed Berger

Jed Berger
In the NRF, there aren’t too many guys that truly embrace the role player position. Jed Berger is one of them. As the vocal and spiritual leader for Shox, as they head towards the playoffs, Berger’s tenacious defense (and six fouls to give) will be vital for a team with title aspirations. Take a few minutes to learn a little bit more about The Jed…

Name: Jed “The Jed” Berger
Team: Shox
Industry: Publishing/Marketing
Job title: Who knows at this point?
What do you do for your job? I make shit happen
Age: 30
Hometown: Lexington, MA
Height: 5-10 (on a good day)
Weight: Consistently too much. I’m working on it though.
Shoe size: 13. Flat as hell.
Position: Point forward. Yes, I’m serious.
My Home Court: Out in the back of my house growing up, my neighbors (hot girl by the way) had a hoop where most of the finer moments of my basketball career happened. Unfortunately nobody else really saw those moments…
Playing Experience: I’ve always played… not well… but I’ve always played. I did kind of tear up Jew Ball for one season.
Favorite Sneakers: Basketball? Three months ago I would have said the Hyperdunk. Now, the Kobe’s might be the footwear of choice.
Favorite Player: Eddie House, Leon Powe, and most of the other players on the Celtics not named Tony Allen.
Favorite Team: Boston Celtics
Go-to-Move: It’s a toss up between “not shooting it” and “the hard foul”
I play: My ass off, but at the end of the day, I’m as mediocre as it gets. I do somewhat pride myself on at least understanding HOW to play better than most.
Coming up I admired: Larry Bird, Reggie Lewis, Xavier McDaniel, Dennis Johnson, Jerry Schiting, Magic, and of course MJ. How Jerry Schiting got in there I’m not really sure.
My basketball moment: Summer Camp. Camp Cobbossee. Color War. Under the lights, the Jed went into a zone that has happened few times in his life. Once again, I’m serious.

Sadly... I can attest to every ounce of this, with exception to "The Jed" understanding HOW to play better than most. Although, I will say he does still pride himself on this aspect despite the lack of truth to his statement. Everything else he said...throughout is spot on. Hot neighbor and all. -GJC
