Welcome to the first installment of the NRF Power Ranking. Even though we haven't seen every team in action yet, Week 1 confirmed what we knew heading into the season: the champs are going to be tough to dethrone...
10. Foamposite - Unfortunately, Foamposite caught the defending champs in their season opener for the second year in a row. Two years running, the result is the same. They're going to have to prove themselves once again.
9. Terminator - Even though they haven't played a game yet, there are huge questions surrounding whether or Terminator can replace the gaping hole known as Brendan Callahan.
8. Huarache - Week 1 saw a Huarache squad sans captain get shellacked by Shox. With a completely new roster from last year, it may take a couple weeks for these guys to gel.
7. Delta Force - It's tough to evaluate this new-look team before they actually get on the court. But you gotta like what they did in the draft. It will be interesting to see what they do tonight.
6. Generation - First a surging Hyperflight squad and now a rematch of the championship game against Uptempo. It will be interesting to see how Generation responds tonight.
5. Dunk - Losing to Air Force 1 by only five in Week 1 - without a couple of their best players - has to be promising for Dunk. This week, we'll see if they're a contender or a pretender as they take on Foamposite.
4. Hyperflight - A convincing win over Generation in Week 1 has some people talking about a Hyperflight squad that spent the better part of last season winless. Let's see if they can make it two in a row.
3. Shox - Chalk up an opening round scare to a long offseason, but Shox is a talented squad. Tonight they'll face Terminator who had Week 1 to prepare. They'll have to come out the gates strong.
2. Air Force 1 - For an All-Star team, AF1 looked kind of average in their first run together. Pay that no matter - this team is stacked and will do damage all season. They get the week off to try and figure it out.
1. Uptempo - Until the champs lose, they're going to sit atop the Power Rankings. With a rematch against a Generation squad that's already down 0-1, you know tonight is going to get personal.
