Dunk 49, Terminator 76
After watching this game i came away with one thing: As good as the rookie class is this year, hands down Omar Grant is the Rookie of the Year. There, I said it. Don't agree with me, then let me hear it in the comments below. As you can imagine from my previous statement, tonight's game of Dunk vs. Terminator will no forever be known as the St. Patrick's Day Massacre. You had to be there to believe it.
To start the game, Grant couldn't miss. A deep three for his first bucket, followed by a nice dime from his teammate Treasure Kyn Neal, followed by another triple, and with 17:40 left to play Generation was up 10-4 (and Grant had eight of 'em). I'm sorry Dunk, but Terminator put on a clinic. For any team that doubts how good they are, you're wrong. These guys are the real deal. With seven minutes left in the first half, the score was 28-10 - with Neal and Dan Gladstone getting in on the action from beyond the arc.
Last week at the NRF All-Star Game, after seeing Grant play for the first time, Bobbito Garcia said that he was going to give him 30. Clearly still high from his three-point championship, Garcia got handed the business - as Grant was the one that finished with 20 in the first half and 30 for the game. With M-V-P chants coming from the crowd (alright, maybe it was me), a three-pointer at the buzzer right before halftime gave Terminator a 43-25 lead heading into the break.
To sum up the second half, this is all you need to know. Dribble, dribble, dribble - Grant hits a three. Dribble, dribble, dribble - Dunk tries to go 1-on-5. Dribble, dribble, dribble - Grant hits a bank three from the semi-circle. Dribble, dribble, dribble - Steve Halo pulls a Rondo on the break. Game over.
