- Team Air Force 1 V. Team Foamposite

Week 18 Recap: Air Force 1 vs. Foamposite

Air Force 1 54, Foamposite 50

I don't know what it is, but it seems that some teams just can't start a game well. And Air Force 1 is one of those teams. After Foamposite started things off on a 5-0 run for the with four minutes of the game, Jason Burke decided he'd had enough. Battling with Foamposite's new big David Jacoby, Burke was giving him the business to start the game. But regardless, this game was still ugly, as a 9-9 score with nine minutes left in the half can attest to.

But then Air Force 1 went on a little run. Behind the in-and-out game of Burke and Brandon Smith, as well as some key plays from Chris Dowling, it seemed like there was nothing Foamposite could do to stop them. And for Foamposite, finally with almost their whole roster intact, they just couldn't seem to string together enough buckets or stops to make their move. At halftime, Air Force 1 led 24-21.

In the second half, everyone woke up. Smith game out aggressive on the defensive end with two quick steals for layups. But then Foamposite decided it was their turn for a run, rattling off 14 unanswered points to take a 35-28 lead. But Air Force 1 came back. With five minutes to play, Foamposite's lead had been cut to 43-42, and it was because of All Burke Everything (as well as the Play of the Game from Kevin Wildes after he stole the ball via a mid-air swipe and delivered the perfect outlet pass to a streaking teammate for the 45-43 lead). But when Foamposite came down the next play and knocked down a three, you knew things were going to get interesting.

The score was 46-45 with under a minute to play. As soon as the ball was inbounded, Smith sent Do Kim to the line for two. Converting both, Foamposite's lead was not 48-45. Next play down, Ben Detrick nails a jumper with 37 seconds left, and Air Force 1 fouls again. They make both, and Foamposite's lead is now 50-47. But after converting down low, Air Force 1 forces Foamposite to throw it away on the other end of the floor. Down just 50-49, they get the ball to Burke and he knocks in the go-ahead basket. All of a sudden, Foamposite is down one, with the ball and only has about seven seconds to make something happen. Unfortunately for them, the couldn't.

WRONG!!! in the second half Air force didnt come out aggressive, infact they were more sluggish than the 1st half. siiigh, nothing taking away from the W AF1 has, but this write up was sponsored by AF1 everything! tells a completely different story of the tempo and pace of the game. Atleast Burke kept things honest in the video.

I agree! that kid brian the bachelor was doing work against AF1 and not once did you mention him or the work jacoby put in. Mike and RON had their fair share as well. but then again it was all in effort for a L. foam < AF1

WE DEMAND ACCURACY SO THAT FUTURE GENERATIONS OF FRAGILE HUMANITY (OR THE SQUIDLIKE ALIENS WHO DEVOUR THEM) WILL KNOW WHAT TRANSPIRED IN LAST NIGHT'S REC LEAGUE GAME. NRF TIME CAPSULE! but yeah, bachelor did his thing. fun game - i'm not entirely sure how we escaped with the win.

Aron isn't sponsored by AF1. If anything he's just on flow.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP WORRYING ABOUT THEIR STATS AND GET WINS. WE ALL KNOW THE REFS ARE WACK HALF THE TIME AND THE STATS RARELY ARE ON POINT. SO YOUR WAY MORE THEN 18 POINTS DIDN'T GET YOU A WIN. BOTTOM HALF OF THE UPTOWN CONFERENCE IS CHOPPY SO DON'T BE THE LEFT NUT HANGING AT THE END OF THE REGULAR SEASON.
