Week 20

- Team Huarache V. Team Terminator

Week 20 Recap: Huarache vs. Terminator

Huarache 64, Terminator 52

You ask me, Huarache looked lackadaisical in the lay-up lines – which could be expected for a team with only two losses. But then again, I could be wrong. When you have two teams amped up to play, helter skelter is what ensues. Apparently as does a 4-2 Huarache lead after the first five minutes.

With a game-day trade for Jamaal Lesane, who was wearing the tightest jersey known to man, Terminator was doing everything they could to come away with the W. Especially Treasure Kyn-Neal. In the early going, Neal was everywhere. Knocking down runners in the lane, three-pointers from beyond the arc – you name it, he hit it. But after 10 minutes, Huarache led 10-9.

This was one of those games like a Suns-Warriors matchup; but instead of crazy buckets, it was crazy defense. And the intensity was wild. No one’s settling for jumpers – straight to the rack. As expected, the Terance Takyi vs. Omar Grant matchup was worth the price of admission, but so was watching Billy Dodson do work. With four minutes left in the half, Huarache’s lead was just 18-16. Then it happened. A 13-2 run by Huarache, capped off by a Takyi three, and the score going into halftime is 31-20.

In the second half, things didn’t get any easier for Terminator. But Neal kept doing his thing. On one play, he made a Chris Paul-esque circus shot over the twin towers of Huarache. But after five minutes of the frenetic play, Huarache still held a 10-point lead.

The next 10 minutes were more of the same – limited offensive output, and tons of tenacious defense. It seemed no matter what Terminator did, they couldn’t take on the height, strength or speed of Huarache. And with a comfortable lead, they were in no hurry. Working the ball around, Huarache showed everyone why they’re going to be the toughest out this season. Gotta give up it up Terminator though, as they didn’t quit until the final buzzer.

Final score: Huarache wins, 64-52.

my issue with the officiating last night - Terms go to the line 8 times. Huarache gets to the line 26 times. come on now. Granted we started fouling on purpose with 2 minutes left, but still. either let us play or call it evenly. PS - how come Lessane didnt make the box? where is his trade announcement. good game to Lekeith and Huarache.

My issue with the heat last night - It was a got damn oven. Good game Treasure. Those running hooks are annoyingly consistent.
