Hyperflight 40, Huarache 57

After watching Huarache dismantle Uptempo last week, Hyperflight could have just rolled over and died. But they don’t have an ounce of quit in their bodies. While it was definitely a tough game, especially missing three of their key guys, they battled their hearts out (at least for the first half) against a very impressive Huarache team.

Even though our key matchup never materialized – as neither Terance Takyi nor Chad Gittens was in the building – the role players stepped up. Jeremy Siler, who just might be the Most Improved Player this year, was an absolute beast. And while all season long he did his thing, Roscoe continued to get timely bucket and stops wherever he was.

If it’s tough to play from behind, it’s extra tough against a team with defensive prowess such as Huarache. And that’s where Hyperflight fell victim. With a lack of true ball handlers, Hyperflight’s offense was stagnant while Huarache’s defense led to easy transition baskets. Yes, LeKeith Taylor may have thrown one down as well.
